PROPOSED BYLAW CHANGES
approved (September 10, 2009) for October 8, 2009 Annual Meeting

NOTE: Proposed additions are in ITALICIZED CAPITAL LETTERS. No deletions to the current bylaws are being proposed.

Proposed Change #1

ARTICLE 3. PURPOSE.

The purpose of the Lazy Mountain Community Council shall be to improve communications between the Matanuska-Susitna Borough and citizens of the community represented, to improve communications between citizens within the community area, to encourage community involvement of all citizens in local government matters which affect them and to provide emergency assistance for people within the Lazy Mountain Community Council boundary area. The Lazy Mountain Community Council shall facilitate a public process for determining a direction for the community, provide a place to resolve community problems, and manage its resources and funds for public benefit.

Proposed Change #2

Article 5. VOTING

D. Voting on other matters considered by the council may be by a show of hands if such a vote will permit accurate counting of votes. Secret ballot voting may also be used. Each general member present is entitled to one vote.

Proposed Change #3

ARTICLE 8. COUNCIL ORGANIZATION

0. Council Board. The council board shall consist of seven general members of the community council, WHO shall have fiduciary responsibility for the Council.

Proposed Change #4

ARTICLE 9. ELECTIONS

. D. Elected board members shall serve for a term of two years. The names of all board members and officers shall be provided to the Borough Clerk and to the State of Alaska Division of Corporations.

Note: Bylaw change #4 shall only become effective if the vote to incorporate LMCC is approved
